Before & After: Hillsedge Owner’s Suite
For many young families, the bedroom can become a second family room, a place where much more than sleep happens. With full time jobs, small children, and never enough time, it happens. But at some point, it comes time to reclaim the bedroom as a respite–and that is exactly what we did in this Owner’s Suite at our Hillsedge Project!
As a new build, this home was bright, and ready for a light designer touch to make it feel complete. Our clients already had beautiful foundational furniture, and our styling + decor brought the space to life!
Before & After
As the baby of the family transitioned into her own room, it was time to take back this bedroom, and make it a soft place for these professional parents to land at the end of a long day.
Since the room was so large, we created two zones: a place to sleep, and a place to lounge. We grounded each individual space with a rug, and accented it with layered lighting to allow for options: bright light, soft light, and a cozy ambiance.
With some intentional re-location of “stuff” and a new defined purpose, this space now offers our clients a quiet place to read or rest.
You know we love a touch of texture, and some modern lines. A simple duvet cover and some pretty pillows add interest, without being too fussy.
We made sure to include some art to inspire these travel enthusiasts, and placed it right across the bed to help them enjoy the view!
(Psst! Reminder: laundry baskets can be pretty!)
Niches can be tricky, and we see a lot of them here in San Antonio. Our favorite trick? Add a mirror, to scale with the size of the niche, and layer with some photographs and greens.
What power does a well-designed bedroom hold?
The power to soothe. The power to comfort. The power to restore and recharge. The power to offer better sleep.
Thoughtful design moves you, and we’re always on a mission to move you closer to a feeling of ease.
